About CC Cottages

Since 1979, our family has owned and operated the Beef Grazing property “Belford Park’ in The Upper Hunter Valley. The Hunter rives runs through the Hereford breeding and farming property, nestled in the valley the base of the Barrington Tops and is home to Cherson Cottage and Coquun Cottage, two of the most luxurious and boutique accommodation offerings in the region.

Both Coquun and Cherson Cottage were originally used as stockman and workman cottages for many years up until 2011. In 2016 Cherson Cottage was renovated, and we began our venture into the world of hosting accommodation, a decision to diversify and add to the family farming enterprise. Both Cottages exemplify the essence of country hospitality, from the customer service experience and throughout your stay we have aimed to create luxury within a rural landscape, offering our guests a chance to experience life on the land.

Cherson Cottage was built in 1920 as a corrugated iron building to house the bookkeeper and additional workman on the property. The cottage was designed with an old copper in the laundry and an original Rayburn wood stove in the kitchen, which were both retained during the renovation to give our guests a feel for a country cottage experience.

Cherson Cottage is a 4 Bedroom fully equipped Cottage that accommodates up to 8 Guests, offering boutique accommodation with luxurious details including indoor and outdoor fireplaces, InBed linen bedding and bathrobes. A generous seasonal breakfast hamper is included on arrival and a pantry with all the essentials.

Coquun Cottage was originally built in 1912 as a stockman’s cottage to accommodate local and travelling stockman. The quaint, timber weatherboard cottage was renovated in 2022 to be lovingly restored with the addition of quality appliances, finishes, fixtures, and fittings to create a luxury living experience for our guests. The interiors have been carefully curated with a balance of contemporary and restored furniture to create a timeless look and feel.

Coquun (“KO-KWON”) meaning ‘fresh water’ was one of the original names given to the Hunter River by the local Wonnuarua Aboriginal people. Coquun Cottage is a fully equipped, two-bedroom, luxury boutique accommodation that includes specialty details such as Hale Mercantile linen bedding, Aesop hand and haircare and a seasonal breakfast hamper with fresh and local produce on arrival.
